Akwatia By-election: Julius Debrah engages traditional leaders

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has appealed to traditional leaders in Akwatia to support the National Democratic Congress ahead of the upcoming by-election.

Speaking at the Palace of the Oseawuo Division of Akyem Abuakwa on Sunday, August 24, 2025, he assured the traditional leaders that the concerns of the community would be addressed.

“We have listened to the grievances of the traditional rulers and humbly request that a meeting be scheduled at Jubilee House on Tuesday, August 2025, to address the challenges in the community.

“By the time the traditional rulers visit Akwatia, they will see the results of the meeting, if you vote for us, you will not regret it,” he noted.

The by-election, set for September 2, 2025, follows the demise of the sitting NPP Member of Parliament, Ernest Yaw Kumi, who passed away on July 7, 2025.

Meanwhile, the forthcoming election is gradually heating up, with both the NDC and NPP gearing up for a fierce contest.

The NDC's parliamentary candidate, Bernard Bediako Baidoo, is contesting against the New Patriotic Party's Solomon Asumadu in the Akwatia by-election.
