CPP - Fante dominated political movement - have always had at their dark heart a hatred for Asantes and Akyems - for reasons that lean back to the era of slavery and colonialism. So when Nkrumah came on the scene they kind of found the pretence to settle scores with their arch political nemesis, Asante and Akyem by trying to water down everything Asante and Akyem and make Kwame Nkrumah a circular monarch. Kwesi Pratt is not alone, you could find the same traits in the political lingo and behaviour in Atta Mess and the Ahwoi brothers. History is purely how somebody captures and recounts his own antecedent experiences. So for Jews, Moses is number one, while Christians see Christ number one, yet all of them amount to nothing significant for Muslims who see Mohamed as the greatest yet all these people and faiths intersected and lived within the same geographic area. These fools have the nerve to say Nana Addo exalted Danquah and diminished the role of Nkrumah when in fact all that he did was to broaden the spectrum and put a spot on us a nation and peoples whose collective history goes back thousands of years. Kwame Nkrumah never found us, neither did he create Ghana even as a political entity, the British did. It wasn't independence that created us as a people in the political space called Ghana we were self-governing political enclaves, the British put us under one flag. Independence just marked the beginning of us taking decisions for ourselves without recourse through Westminster. It doesn't mean we were not and did not see ourselves as closely related people with certain baselines and understandings that tied us all to the Union Jack which became Ghana flag on the midnight of March 5, 1957. Miseducated fools and mischiefs like Pratt want us to continue the deception because it favours their political narratives. When was it that they even mounted any platform and gave some credits to Danquah and others, for them to come and tell us, Nana should have heaped all the praises on Nkrumah. March 6, 1957 was Ghana's birthday, not Nkrumah's. And it wasn't Kwame Nkrumah who gave birth to Nkrumah. The fact that he did not even named the new born nation back then should open your eyes. Before Nkrumah was, Gold Coast/Ghana was. We have always been and will forever continue to be, that is why the party he formed, CPP has died, but we as a notion are still here, and to wit the party on whose back he piggybacked on, the UGCC/NPP is still here.
What irks me the most about Nkrumacrats is their penchant for narrating the whole independence movement like Ghanaians did not know exactly what they wanted and how to go about it until Kwaku Ananse Kwame Nkrumah arrived at the Gold Coast.
For these dusty feet gumsuckers our sense of self, history, nationalism only crystalized with the coming of Nkrumah. All others before him were just beating about the bush. Yet when we pause, take stock and reflect over our total collective history, like president Akufo Addo rightly pointed out, we have always had this innate feeling and sense of who we are, from whence we have come and our undying desire for freedom and justice going back thousands of years - from ancient Ghana to date, with exception of the Gas and Ewes who probably came from the Gulf of Guinea probably starting from the Congo basin through Nigeria to their present abode.
A testament to how Kwame Nkrumah and all that he stood for was just a blip in our thousand-year history is the sorry state of the party he formed today - the CPP which can hardly command even 1% of the popular votes compared to the true blood UGCC in its current form as NPP.
Kwame Nkrumah did great things, but to say he is the sole founder of modern Ghana, you have to be a well-intentioned fool to come to that conclusion when the march towards independence was already in full swing before he arrived on the scene from abroad. Akufo Addo gave an abridged version of our 1000 years history and we applaud him for it, setting the records straight. Ghana did not start from the time Kwame Nkrumah arrived on the scene till independence. Ignorant buffoons should not be allowed to foist their bad education on the rest. Kwame Nkrumah just finished a relay race. He didn't start the race.

Mr. Kwesi Pratt, for your information you are not the only educated person in Ghana to lecture us about Ghana's Independence, so please stop this nonsense with your biased reporting. In the first place how old were you when Ghana got its independence? I was 7 years and at least I saw what happened. Later on we were taught at school the history of how JB Dankwah and others invited Kwame Nkrumah from England to become their secretary to negotiate with the British Government on the question of independence, so please don't make it look like it was Dr. Nkrumah who got the independence for us.

Can someone explain to me why everything this European, (who else would have Pratt as his surname but an European?) says is given so much prominence? Who is he really? Why does he behave that he is an authority on every matter, from accountancy to zoology? Kwesi Pratt says this; Kwesi Pratt says that; day after day. Always making pronouncements on every matter as if his opinion is final. Does a journalist know everything? All he has a journalist is a platform to hog publicity. The man is conceited, pompous and arrogant. One is tempted to apply the old adage: empty barrels make the most sound to him, with some justification.

In any case Nelson Mandela is regarded as the father of modern day South Africa, the question is was Nelson Mandela the only person who fought for the liberation of South Africa? Nkrumah himself never said he was the only person who fought for the independence of Ghana.

So are you guys telling Ghanaians that because he was part of the qualification team, he is also part of the team when the name of Ghana was raised high at the world cup? You guys shouldn't forget that the first shall always be the last, it is true JB danquah and the rest started the struggle for independence but because they were not men enough they run away leaving the brave man alone Kwame Nkrumah to form his own group for the struggle of the independent we are enjoying now. If Akufo Addo father and his group in the struggle for independent, then where were they when Kwame Nkrumah was declaring Ghana as independent country at the polo ground where were they someone should tell, was Kojo Botsio, Krobo Edusei part of the so call UGCC . ALL YOU KNOW IS FROM 1948 OR 49 WHEN NKRUMAH ARRIVED FROM BRITAIN. IDIOT KWESI PRATT SHOULD THEREFORE UNDERSTAND THAT UNTIL THAT TIME, THERE HAD BEEN SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AT OUR FREEDOM BECAUSE A LOT HAPPENED AFTER THE BOND OF 1844. HONESTLY, PRATT CANNOT TELL OF ANY OF THOSE EVENTS AND ARRANGEMENTS OR AGREEMENTS THAT HAD TAKEN PLACE. TRULY, NKRUMAH WAS NOWHERE NEAR GHANA IN THOSE DAYS UNTIL 1948. IN EQUAL MEASURE, KWESI PRATT CAN'T BEHAVE AS IF HE IS A MASTER HISTORIAN OF GHANA'S POLITICAL HISTORY. ALL WE KNOW OF PRATT IS THAT HE A STOMACH, BIASED AND HYPOCRITICAL JOURNALIST WHO IS ALSO TOO TREACHEROUS TO BE TRUSTED. What's useless about correcting lies that was written and forced on Ghanaians by Dr Kwame Nkrumah?whos truth is it?how old was Kwasi Pratt when Ghana started the struggle for independence?we all read it as it was written but common sense should guide us to the truth. No one individual can achieve alone what the CPP elements want us to believe,Kwasi Pratt.ll rant as this argument continues in his attempt to force his ignorance on us as he has always done in the past, the question is when did Nkrumah return to fight for independence?did he work full time as general secretary for the UGCC?was he on salary or not and who paid him?.Liken it to a football team, can we say one player as good as he may be can play the role of eleven players?common sense should tell you that others played various roles and must take their place in history.Cpp believes Nkrumah is a Holy Ghost who still leads their party that's why the can't move ahead in anything, stop glorifying dusty books of Nkrumah full of distortions. Those who sponsored his killing the CIA became the friends of Pratt in the leaked diplomatic cables of America,so who is this idiot trying to fool?he can go to his grave with what he terms the truth but we ll continue to ask questions, even Kwame Nkrumah,s children can not understand their father, whiles some believe in him fully Sekou Nkrumah couldn't even stay in cpp and wondering around in other political parties, just last week Nkrumah,a daughter was calling for removal of Kotoka,s name from our airport as if history is only about good things, why must generations yet unborn forget about kotoka just because he overthrew Dr Kwame Nkrumah?many still ll not forgive Nkrumah and those fought to librate us,some believe we re only free but not independent.Another question is how did Pratt lose his front teeth?find the answers in the NRC reports.

Prof. FK Buah and Prof Adu Boahen, both eminent History professors disagree on this issue. This is an Ge old question about the objectivity of History. History is not an exact science, even if historiography has a clear methodical approach. So long as NAADA agrees that 6th March 1957 was our day of independence and that Nkrumah was the Man on the podium, that is fair. He presented a side of history which is usually drowned in oblivion, for that reason alone, his perspective of our poltical history is not wrong. The fact is also that Nkrumah became the face of African emancipation movement. The fact is Nkrumah is the African of the Millennium. The question of who was the greatest will always be 'a beauty contest'. It will never be free from personal idiosyncrasies and prejudices. All these makes the study of history and historical anslysis really exciting. Most importantly, it should unify us as a country, coz all those people did and achieved those things not only for themselves, but for you and me, their descendants, the seed of their loins they will never see or meet or know till eternity. The real question is, How will we be remembered?

Sometimes, I feel ashamed for Kwesi Pratt and his line of argument. Who is making an attempt to denigrate Kwame Nkrumah? Besides, which aspect of Nana Addo's historical submission is wrong?
Mr. Pratt your respect is no more exciting.
What did Pratt say? Myopic minded people always insult people without stating their own positions. Is it because Nana is the president so if he goes wrong he must not be told? Praise singers leave Pratt alone and learn.
