International Medical Associates for Global Health Empowerment (IMAGHE) based in Virginia, USA in collaboration with CECIYAA Foundation has organized a Health Fair in Ghana.

The one-day Health Fair was held at Mafi Adzasika in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region.

Over 150 people, both young and old who were screened in Hypertension, Malaria, Typhoid, and Diabetes were given free consultation and drugs.

A Laboratory Technician, Ken Amevor in an interview noted that most of the screened persons were diagnosed of malaria and blood pressure.

He used the occasion to advise the gathering to prioritize their health issues.

The attendees who could not hide their happiness thanked IMAGHE for the gesture and wished that the health fair be done annually.

They appealed to IMAGHE to build a Maternity Ward for them since women in labour travel from Mafi Adzasika to far away Adidome to give birth.

According to them when somebody is hit with an emergency, the only available transport is a motorbike and this sometimes results in deaths because of the bad road.

The Assembly woman for the area, Hon Charity Boko hinted that 10 women in labour have died in the past 5 years because of the lack of a Maternity Ward.

To this end she expressed her gratitude to IMAGHE and appealed for a Maternity Ward to save women in labour from dying.

Speaking to the CEO of IMAGHE,Dr Derrick Aboagye, he said the Executives and its partners are already aware of the plight of the people.

He said they have considered building mini - clinics for the town and it's surrounding communities that are bedeviled with similar problems adding that the Health Fair is an intermittent affair.
