Agona East MP donates to save a life - Report

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Agona East Constituency, Hon Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr has made a donation to an amputee patient on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to help save her life.

The 15-year old Benedicta from the Volta Region whose right leg was amputated on Monday after it was discovered to have rotten through a minor injury in 2015, was identified by TV3 which televised her plight.

The news item touched the heart of Hon Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr who went to her aid at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The MP donated Gh¢2000 for her upkeep, assorted provisions and an undisclosed amount of money for the purchase of blood to cater for her anemic condition as result of her predicament.

Hon Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr in an interview stated that “I went to the aid of little Benedicta at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital when TV3 identified and televised her plight,” and believed that if others cultivate the habit of giving to others who are in such conditions, many lives would be saved.

Hon Queenstar Sawyerr said helping one another should be the surest way to make our stay here on earth a happy one.

On receiving the items, nurses at the hospital expressed their appreciation to Hon Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr for her kind gesture towards little Benedicta.
