The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has said the facility being used as “abortion clinic” in Suhum by a quack doctor now on the run cannot be closed down because it also serves as accommodation for family members of the quack doctor.

Speaking to Ultimate News’ Kojo Ansah Sasraku after inspecting the facility on Monday, the Suhum Municipal Health Director, Dr.Samuel Agyeman Boateng wondered why such a deplorable building is used for this illegal activity.

He explained that the GHS has launched investigations into the matter and has extended invitation to the quack doctor now on the run through the family to assist in investigation.

The Municipal Health Director corroborated that, the quack abortion doctor was a Health Extension Officer with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) posted to Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital at Mampong Akuapem.

‘After exiting the Agency he was employed by Rev.Bidi -S Memorial Hospital popularly known as Setsoafia Clinic as a ward assistant but was dismissed by the hospital 10 months ago over misconduct,’ he explained.

Information available to Ultimate News indicates that the quack abortion doctor was dismissed from the hospital in March 2016 after management found him guilty of misconduct.

He was alleged to have diverted some patients to his illegal facility to abort their pregnancies.
