Faith healers asked to register to expose quacks

Apostle Emmanuel Adarkwa, Eastern Regional Coordinator of Ghana Association of Faith Healers, has urged herbalists and faith healers to register with the organisation to eliminate quack members.

Apostle Emmanuel Adarkwa, who gave the advice at a general meeting organised by the Association at Nsawam on Tuesday to educate members on the best use of traditional medicine, asked churches to refrain from the habit of detaining sick people in their prayer camps until their death before seeking assistance from the association.

Apostle Adarkwa, General Overseer of the New Testament Kingdom of Ghana, said faith healers should consult members who could help them cure the diseases of people in their custody or send them to nearby health facilities before it is too late to save their lives.

The Apostle urged members to use gloves while attending to patients and also endeavour to send their herbal products to Mampong Council for Scientific and Industrial Research for screening before administering them.

Superintendent Akwasi Kankam Boadu, Nsawam Police Commander, called on members of the association not to violate the rights of patients and also renew their membership every year to enable the police to identify and arrest quack practitioners.
