The Korle Bu Polyclinic/Family Medicine Department has received eight anti-decubitus mattresses to help care for bedridden patients and prevent pressure ulcers.
The donation was made on May 15, 2026, by William Kabutey Adjovu on behalf of the Drewgees Foundation to improve comfort and clinical outcomes for patients, especially stroke survivors in recovery, as reported by adomonline.com on May 15, 2026.
Family Medicine Resident Dr Gideon Nyarko facilitated the donation, highlighting challenges faced by patients on admission and appealing for support.
"The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen patient care and improve the quality of services delivered at the facility," he said.
"The mattresses would significantly improve care for patients with mobility challenges," Chief Nursing Officer Ayesha Adjoa Boateng, who received the items said.
She commended Dr Nyarko for facilitating the donation, calling it timely and impactful.
"The support would help improve patient dignity and reduce complications associated with prolonged immobility," she added.
Also present were Head of Department Dr George Bediako Nketiah, Clinical Care Coordinator Dr Baaba Damoah, Administrator Phanuel Gadzie, and other staff.
