Residents of Kumdi and surrounding communities in Kpandai District, Northern Region, now have access to a new 24-hour medical centre aimed at boosting healthcare delivery in the area.
The Titus Medical Centre was commissioned on Monday, May 11, 2026, by founder and Kumdi native Steve-Lee Demuyakor, 3news.com reported on May 13, 2026.
For years, the Kumdi CHPS compound has served more than 10 communities, but limited equipment and capacity have forced referrals to hospitals in Wulensi, Kpandai and Salaga. Poor roads and transport delays have made emergencies worse.
“As a son of this community, I saw the need to establish a well-equipped facility that will complement the existing CHPS compound and help reduce delays in accessing healthcare, especially during emergencies,” Demuyakor said at the commissioning.

The centre will run 24 hours and offer OPD, emergency care, antenatal and postnatal services, delivery, ultrasound scanning, laboratory and pharmacy services, child welfare clinics, family planning and inpatient care.
“Many lives are put at risk because people have to travel long distances on bad roads before accessing proper medical care. We want to change that situation,” he added.
It has also introduced free routine health screening for people aged 50 and above, covering blood pressure and blood sugar checks.
“We are also making provisions for anti-snake venom treatment and support for farm-related emergencies because these are common challenges in farming communities like ours,” he noted.

Demuyakor said the project was inspired by the death of his brother, who could not get timely care after an accident.
“I lost my brother because he could not get timely medical attention after an accident. That painful experience inspired me to establish this facility so others do not go through the same situation,” he recounted.
To mark the opening and Mother’s Day, the facility held a free health screening for women, with about 500 benefiting from consultations and medications.
Kpandai DCE Haruna Abdul-Karim praised the initiative as a major boost for healthcare in the district.
“This facility will greatly complement the existing CHPS compound and improve access to healthcare for many surrounding communities,” he said.
He urged residents to patronise it and called on others to support similar projects.
