Ghana has recorded six new Mpox cases, pushing the national total to 1,070 as of May 10, 2026.
The Ghana Health Service said no new deaths were recorded, keeping the death toll at eight, adomonline.com reported on May 12, 2026.
Mpox continues to spread mainly through “close physical contact with infected persons.”
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) is urging the public to “immediately report symptoms such as fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and unusual tiredness to the nearest health facility for early diagnosis and treatment.”
The Service also encouraged Ghanaians to “remain calm while adhering to preventive measures and strict personal hygiene to limit the spread of the disease.”
