In a significant move to strengthen healthcare delivery in Amenfi Central, Member of Parliament Joana Gyan Cudjoe has donated a total of GH¢39,000 to support the completion of the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound in Manso Nkwanta No. 2.
The donation, formally handed over on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, marks a pivotal step toward bringing quality and accessible healthcare services directly to underserved communities within the constituency.
The CHPS initiative, a flagship program of Ghana’s healthcare system, aims to decentralise medical care and promote preventive health practices at the community level.
The Manso Nkwanta No. 2 NDC executives received the funds on behalf of the traditional authorities, community leaders, and residents, expressing profound gratitude to the MP for her unwavering commitment to local development.
“This donation is not just about completing a building, it's about saving lives, improving maternal and child health, and giving our people confidence that medical care is within reach,” said Nana Kwame Aduhene II, representative of the Manso Nkwanta No. 2 Traditional Council. “We commend Joana Gyan Cudjoe for her visionary leadership and heart for the people.”
Once completed, the CHPS Compound will serve as a primary healthcare hub equipped to handle basic medical emergencies, maternal care, child immunizations, and health education programs. It is expected to significantly reduce the burden on distant hospitals and improve health outcomes in the community.
Joana Gyan Cudjoe, who has consistently prioritized social welfare and human-centered development since assuming office, stressed her dedication to transforming her development agenda into tangible results.
“As a mother and a public servant, I understand how critical timely access to healthcare is, especially in our rural communities,” she said during the handover ceremony. “Every cedi invested in healthcare is an investment in human dignity, productivity, and national development. This CHPS compound will ensure that no one has to walk long distances or suffer in silence due to lack of medical support.”
The MP’s latest intervention aligns with the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) broader vision of building resilient, healthy, and empowered communities. It further cements her reputation as a results-oriented leader passionate about community-driven development.
Residents of Manso Nkwanta No. 2 have hailed the gesture as transformative, with many expressing hope that the completion of the facility will mark the beginning of broader infrastructural and social improvements in the area.
As construction resumes on the CHPS Compound, the community looks forward to the imminent realization of a long-held dream, a fully functional health center that stands as a symbol of progress, care, and parliamentary accountability.
