The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has paid a working visit to the Bibiani Municipal Hospital as part of his official tour of the Western North Region.

The visit, aimed at familiarizing himself with conditions at the facility, formed part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to identify challenges in health institutions and strengthen healthcare delivery across the region.

At the hospital on August 29, 2025, Akandoh interacted with patients and staff, listening to their concerns and experiences.

The Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Akwesi Adu-Gyamfi, led the minister on a tour of key departments, including the washrooms, consulting rooms, Outpatient Department (OPD), Antenatal Care Unit and the administrative offices.

Akandoh also held a closed-door meeting with hospital management to discuss pressing challenges confronting the facility and explore how the Ministry could intervene to improve service delivery.

Speaking during an interaction with newly recruited health workers, the minister acknowledged their frustrations, particularly regarding delays in salary payments.
