Presby hospital receives new ambulance

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) Nov. 14, GNA - Squadron Leader Benjamin Anane Asamoah (rtd), Dormaa District Chief Executive, has on behalf of the government presented the keys to a new ambulance to the management of the Presbyterian hospital at Dormaa-Ahenkro.

The presentation was part of the government's National Ambulance Service, designed to empower hospitals to meet emergency and referral demands.

The DCE warned against the use of the vehicle for purposes other than those specified. Squadron Leader Asamoah said the presentation was to augment the hospital's fleet of vehicles to cope with the increasing number of patients due to the implementation of the national health insurance scheme. He expressed the hope that the increasing burden would not scare nor discourage the staff in the performance of their duties. The Acting General Manager of the hospital, Dr. David Agyepong, thanked the government and the District Assembly for the continued moral and material support to the hospital.

He lauded the arrival of the ambulance, saying the management of the hospital was locked up in discussions on how to procure such a vehicle to facilitate the hospital's rapid response to emergencies. Dr. Agyepong assured the DCE that the ambulance would be utilised for the intended purposes only.
