Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira DHIS takes off

Twifo Praso (C/R), Jan 03, GNA - Some people in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira have started benefiting District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme since its commencement on November 2005 at Twifo Praso.

Mr Samuel Yaw Agyeibi-Kessie, the District Chief Executive, who disclosed this at an assembly meeting on Friday, said so far, 53,888 people have registered with the scheme, out of which 1,552 are in the informal sector.

He said over 1,000 identity cards have been printed and 471 distributed to contributors.

Mr Agyeibie-Kessie regretted that in spite of these, some unpatriotic citizens were peddling lies about the scheme and thereby discouraging others from registering, while they themselves have registered. He appealed to members of the house to educate people to register and embrace it and stop politicising it.

Mr Agyeibie-Kessie said the district enjoyed relative peace and entreated members of the house to maintain and promote peace for development.
