Tullow undertakes free health-screening exercise

Apewosika (W/R), Oct.1, GNA 97 Tullow-Ghana and its Jubilee partners on Saturday

organized a free health screening exercise for the people of Apewosika in the Nzema East

Municipality of the Western Region. Over 100 residents were screened for diabetes, HIV, hypertension, breast cancer,

dental care, ear, eye, nose and throat infections. Mr Ken McGhee, the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager of Jubilee Partners, said

the screening exercise was aimed at offering free medical services to inhabitants residing

within its operational area. He cited communities that had benefited from the Jubilee Partners' f= ree health

screening as Shama, Ampain, Agona, Nkroful, Essiama, Ahobre, New Takoradi and

Agona Nkwanta all in the Western Region. Mr McGhee said the health needs of the people within their catchment area would

remain paramount to the company and never be relegated to the background. Dr Richard Anthony, a Physician Specialist at the Effia- Nkwanta Regional Hospital,

appealed to the people to register with the National Health Insurance Schem= e (NHIS) to

help them gain access to quality health care. He commended the Jubilee Partners for the kind gesture shown to the people and

urged them to continue offering such health services to the community. The Municipal Chief Executive for Nzema East, Rev James Ackah Cobbinah= , appealed

to the Jubilee Partners to fulfil their promise of constructing CHIP compounds for six

communities in the municipality. This, he said, would enable the residents have access to good health care within the

community.
