Tamale Teaching Hospital gets 10-member board

Tamale, July 7, GNA - Government has for the first time constituted a 10-member board for Tamale Teaching Hospital, to give strategic policy direction to ensure quality healthcare delivery at the facility. Dr. Mutakilu Iddrisu, Chairman of the board who disclosed this at a meeting of members in Tamale on Tuesday, assured the public that the body would work very hard to uplift the image of the hospital and promote the welfare of the staff.

He expressed appreciation to the government "for setting up such a board for the first time in the history of the hospital", adding:"We shall engineer the hospital to work effectively."

Mr. Steven Sumani Nayina, Northern Regional Minister, charged the board to work assiduously to overcome the numerous challenges facing the hospital since it was the only referral hospital for the three Northern Regions. Dr. Ken Sagoe Chief Executive Officer of the hospital said the staff were very happy to have a board in place and were ready to work with them.

Other members of the Board, which was inaugurated by the Minister of Health, Dr. George Siipa Yankey in Accra on June 18, are Dr Ken Sagoe, Dr Edmond Gyader Mr. K. K. Boachie and Mrs. Elizabeth Danso. The rest are; Mr. Samuel Aboni, Ms. Elizabeth Acquah, Dr. Ahmed Zakariah, Professor Ramatu Mahama and Professor Duwiejua Mahama.
