SDA youth donate blood to Kade Hospital

Twenty-one youth of the Kade District Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church, at the weekend donated blood to the Kade Government Hospital to boost its blood bank.

The gesture formed part of the church’s activities to mark its 125th anniversary celebrations. Elder S.A. Brako, Kade District leader of the church, said the religious organisation would continue to donate blood to support blood banks in the country’s hospitals.

“The youth in the church are being mobilized and encouraged individually to voluntarily donate blood every four months,” he said.

Elder Brako said blood donation was essential to saving the lives of accident victims and those suffering from anemia and other ailments that required blood.

Elder Samuel Ofosu-Okyere, District Youth Leader of the church, said the church donated blood during district, regional and national youth camps.

Elder David Kwadwo Bediako, the District Communications Director of the church, called on Ghanaians to voluntary donate blood to save lives.

Mr. George Oduro, bio-medical scientist at the hospital, thanked the donors for their volunteerism, and called on other youth to emulate them.

Each donor was given a card with a certificate issued by the National Blood Transfusion Service in recognition of their gesture.
