People of Akyemansa asked to register with NHIS

National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)

Mr Tom Budu, Akyemansa District Chief Executive, has advised the people in the area to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to facilitate their medical care.

Mr Budu gave the advice in an interview with Ghana News Agency after he had inspected the offices of NHIS at Akim Ayirebi and Ofoase in the Akyemansa District in the Eastern Region.

He said the establishment of the NHIS in the area would curb the problem of the people travelling long distances to register with the policy at New Abirem.

Mr Budu told the people that the scheme would improve on their health conditions and they should take advantage of the opportunity.

Mr Daniel Nartey, District Manager of the NHIS said the offices have been provided with adequate biometric machines to work effectively for 24 hours and the patronage is encouraging.

He appealed to the District Assembly and the National Health Insurance Authority to renovate the offices.
