The Techiman-Krobo Nursing Old Students Association (TEKNOSA), has appealed to the Ministry of Health (MOH) to withdraw the appointment of Ms Veronica Amoah, as the new Principal of the College.

The group comprising past students of the Krobo Nursing Training College in the Techiman Municipality of Brong-Ahafo Region Described the appointment of Ms Amoah, a former Principal of the Tepa Midwifery Training College as unacceptable, and challenged the Ministry to publish the outcome of investigations by a committee it set up to probe the former Principal on corruption charges.

The appeal was contained in a petition signed by Mr Moses Gaayuoni, the Vice President of the TEKNOSA, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on Monday.

"We expect the MOH to publish the committee report on investigations of several corruption charges levelled against Ms Amoah when she was the Principal at the Tepa Midwifery Training College. Until that is done we are not going to accept her posting to the college” it stated.

Last year, Ms Amoah was interdicted by the MOH following allegations of corrupt practices levelled against her by some student nurses and tutors of the Tepa Midwifery Training College in the Ahafo Ano South District of the Ashanti Region.

To that effect, the MOH set up an independent committee to investigate her.

"We are ready for her and if the government fails to withdraw her appointment, we the members of the Association and youth in the Krobo Township and the Techiman Municipality, in general, would face her", the petition added.
