Over 200 benefit from free health screening in K´dua

More than 200 residents in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua, have benefitted from free health screening.

They were thoroughly examined for various diseases including malaria, hypertension, and eye defects, as well as their cholesterol and glucose levels.

The exercise was jointly organized by ASA Savings and Loans Limited, a microfinance company, and Metason Health Limited, a private herbal clinic at Trom in Koforidua.

Mr. Mohammed Iqbal Kabir, the ASA Regional Manager, said it was part of the effort to bring healthcare to the poor and the vulnerable.

As a good corporate citizen, he said, it was eager to assist improve the health of the people to make them economically productive.

He gave the assurance that the company would continue to organize such public free health screening from time to time.

Dr. Unyime Nkanta, Managing Director of the Clinic, advised the people to exercise their bodies and go for regular health check.

They should also avoid unhealthy lifestyles – fatty foods and binge drinking.
