Veronica Kakah, Oti Regional Public Health Officer, has appealed for the provision of Intrauterine Device (IUD) insertion kits to enhance family planning services in the region.

She emphasised the urgent need for these essential medical supplies to promote reproductive health and empower women.

During a training workshop on capacity building for Family Planning Service Providers, Madam Kakah stressed the importance of accurate and timely data in healthcare.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the competencies of service providers in data collection, reporting, and utilisation.

Madam Kakah urged the government, NGOs, and institutions to prioritise the procurement and distribution of IUD insertion kits.

She said this would significantly reduce unintended pregnancies and improve health indicators in the region.

The Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) of Nkwanta South, Joseph Antwi Awal, expressed support for the appeal, acknowledging the critical role of family planning in sustainable development.
