Oguaa recorded nine births on Golden jubilee anniversary day

Cape Coast, March 7, GNA - A total of nine new babies made up of five boys and four girls were born in the Cape Coast municipality on Tuesday march 6, the 50th anniversary of Ghana's independence. The babies were born between 0613 hours 1500hours.

At the Central Regional Hospital two births, a boy and a girl were recorded whiles a boy was born at the University of Cape Coast hospital. The Cape Coast District Hospital recorded four births, two boys males and two girls, Ewim Urban health centre recording two, a boy and a girl and Adisadel health centre did not record any birth.

Ms Mercy Gyamera, a midwife at the UCC hospital, described them as special babies and said they should be given good care to grow and become national assets.

She suggested that such children should be given special package in the form of scholarships to enhance their education. Madam Janet Arhin, a trader who gave birth to a girl, thanked God for a safe delivery and said the day would remain special. 07 March 07
