Mothers told to take issues of health seriously

Madam Hannah Mantey, head of the Kofi Kwei Community Health Programme System (CHPS) Compound in Ga South Municipality, has urged residents of the area to pay serious attention to their health and that of their children.

Madam Mantey advised the people to shun habits like drinking of alcohol, smoking of narcotics, illicit sex, open defecation and throwing of rubbish into gutters and at unauthorized places to avoid contracting diseases.

She said this to a group of pregnant women and nursing mothers at Kudeha part of her working visit to that community.

The Assembly member for Kofi Kwei, Mr. Pius Fiakuna, appealed to the government to provide the CHPS compound with drugs, permanent source of water, storage and cooling facility, megaphones and motor bikes to enable it to discharge its mandate effectively.
