Korle-Bu fights water and electricity problems

The Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has put contingency measures in place to ensure the hospital is not seriously affected by the water and electricity challenges the country is facing.

The Public Relations Officer of the hospital, Mustapha Salifu, disclosed this when the Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church at Korle Gonno donated items worth about GHS6,000 to the Hospital.

The items included plastic chairs, toiletries, crutches, curtains, fruits and loaves of bread.

Mr. Salifu said the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has placed the hospital on its priority list and have been providing special tanker services to Korle Bu. Meanwhile, the hospital has also dedicated reservoirs to the weakest and most sensitive areas.

On electricity, Mr. Salifu said, ECG has also placed the hospital on its priority list and the hospital has reinforced its back up plants to ensure uninterrupted service.

He commended the Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church for donating to the hospital for the past 23 years.

A former CEO of Accra Metropolitan Assembly, AMA, Stanley Adjiri Blankson, who is an elder of the Church and the Accra West Archdeacon of the Anglican Church, Venerable Samuel Hanson Addy jointly presented the items to the hospital.
