The Chief Executive Officer of Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Paa Kwesi Baido, has urged the media in the Ashanti Region to project stalled infrastructural projects at the facility in the media space to get support.

Baido believes the facility will get support from civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, investors, government and other stakeholders for these stalled projects, with support from the media.



Speaking to OTEC news reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng after a media soiree on Thursday, December 18, 2025, Baido appealed to the media to put the 500-bed capacity maternity block at KATH in the spotlight.

"You have the platform, hundreds of people listen to you, and as our partners of development, we will need your support to revive stalled projects at KATH," he said.



He further revealed how the project will bring comfort when completed.

"This maternity block will ease huge pressure on KATH when completed, indeed government has captured it in the 2026 budget, but we'll need to support the government, and ensure the facility is completed to serve the public," Baido added.



Baido assured journalists that management of KATH will also open its doors for them, for effective collaboration and development of the hospital.
