Hospital supports physically challenged patients with wheel chairs

The Management of the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba, has donated wheel chairs with accessories to five physically challenged persons accessing medication at its Physiotherapy Department to help them move freely around.

The beneficiaries, were Modester Bokuma from Asamankese, Kojo Sam from Otuam, Charlotte Donkor, Philip Turkson and Issah Ibrahim all from the Effutu Municipality.

Dr. Richard Sammy Anongura, Medical Director of the Hospital, who made the presentation to the beneficiaries at the hospital, said the donation formed part of their corporate social responsibility.

He said the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint Church, Ghana provided the eight wheel chairs, after the hospital solicited help from it.

He expressed his profound gratitude to the Church for the support, and gave the assurance that the items will be used judiciously, to help promote health care delivery in the society.

Mr. Samuel Ntem, Principal Physiotherapist of the Hospital, said the management deemed it necessary to present five of the wheel chairs to the physically challenged clients, with the aim to boost their morale.

The beneficiaries thanked Management of the Hospital and the donors for coming to their aid.
