Hospital appeals for assistance

Jema (B/A), May 8, GNA - Dr. Kofi Amoako-Gyampah, Medical doctor in-charge of Jema government hospital in Kintampo South district has appealed to the Ghana Health Service to assist with the provision of medical and laboratory equipment for the Hospital to ensure quality health delivery at the hospital.

Dr. Amoako-Gyampah made the appeal when he conducted the Ghana News Agency (GNA) round to inspect the buildings and equipment at the new hospital, which was elevated from a clinic some months ago. He said the hospital lacked adequate beds, basic surgical items and the lack of permanent staff.

Dr. Amoako-Gyampah commended the management of the Kintampo hospital for assisting the facility in solving some of its teething problems.

He paid tribute to the management and staff of the Kintampo South Mutual Health Insurance Scheme for offering the hospital a loan of 200 million cedis to purchase drugs and some essential basic items. He praised the efforts of the district assembly in providing the hospital with a generator, air conditioners and blood bank equipment. He called on traditional and opinion leaders to educate the people about the importance of the national health insurance scheme so that they would register to enjoy quality health delivery.
