Ghanaians in South African assist Swedru Govt. hospital

Members of the OBAASima Club, a Ghanaian benevolent Society in South Africa, has presented an obstetric and gynaecological bed and 30 bed sheets to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital.

Dr Mrs Ivy Anafi, a member of the club who made the presentation at Agona Swedru on Tuesday, said the items costing $8,000 was their contribution towards promoting health delivery in the Municipality.

She said membership of the OBAASima Club comprises Ghanaians and other ladies affiliated to Ghanaians through marriage or other forms of relationships and resident in Johannesburg and its environs.

Dr Anafi said, the club works closely with the Ghana High Commission in South Africa to reach the Ghanaian Community living in the country and organises regular events to celebrate Ghanaian national days to help bring the Ghanaian community together.

The Medical Superintendent of the Agona Swedru Hospital, Dr Apetorgbor Dzodzogbe, received the items and thanked the donors but appealed for more of such assistance to help the facility continue to provide quality health service to the people. **
