Ghana Health Service to embark on yellow fever vaccinations

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) and some development partners would embark on a free Sub-National yellow fever vaccination campaign to vaccinate persons between 10 to 65 years.

The exercise is set to begin from November 28 to December 4, 2018 in some selected areas in the Ashanti region.

According the Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr. Emmanuel Tenkorang, out of the 65 selected District in the country termed as high risk districts, 12 District in the Ashanti Region will be beneficiaries of the exercise.

He says the district are termed as High Risk District based on the assessment of the Ghana Health Services 2010 yellow fever risk assessment.

He says, they will assign immunization team at various hospitals and clinics to facilitate the exercise.

Dr. Tenkorang also urges people who would be vaccinated to collect a yellow card from the officials engaged as evidence that they were vaccinated.

Below are the 12 District in the Ashanti region that will benefit from the exercise.

Ahafo - Ano North, Asante - Akim Nort, Asante - Akim Central, Asante - Mampong, Atwima - Kwanwoma, Bosome - Freho, Bosomtwi, Ejura - Sekyeredumase, Sekyere Central, Sekyere East, Sekyere North.
