Four Square Gospel Church organizes health screening for Mallam community

The Four Square Gospel Church on Saturday September 6 organised a health screening exercise for its members at the Bethel Assembly in the Mallam community as part of its 40th anniversary.
Over 500 people made up of the elderly, youth, kids of both sexes stormed the church premise to be taken through steps of registration, checking of temperature, height, weight, blood pressure and checking of diseases and ailments.
Reverend Christopher Marfo Ahenkorah, General Overseer of the church said the programme was highly successful as people from Kasua, Mallam, Gbawe and surrounding areas come for the screening.
He noted that the church took upon itself to organize such health programs to sensitise the public and be responsible as a social entity, referring to a blood donation and health walk organized in Accra recently.
He expressed that all the 25 branches of the church in Ghana are health conscious and they have other events coming up to climax the 40th anniversary
Pastor Vida Arthur, Associate Pastor of the Bethel Assembly told yours trurly in an interview that the event was very fruitful as they catered for people who had not been checking their health status.
She adviced Christians to practice things that would make them healthy and fit as well as task parents to help their children to wash their hands frequently.
Dr. Dennis Bortey, a medical doctor who is a member of the church said the exercise was very good as many ailments and diseases were diagnosed and treated, whilst the complex ones were referred.
He said drugs were donated freely to those who deserved, especially kids who were offered medicine for worms.
