Experts from Indian’s Apollo Hospitals visit Ghana

A delegation of senior healthcare professionals from Apollo Hospitals in India is currently visiting Ghana to offer consultation to their Ghanaian counterparts.

The delegation comprises renowned consultants in Nephrology, Cardiology and Neurosurgery.

A statement issued in Accra and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday said, the team visited earlier in November 2011 on the invitation of the Ministry of Health and then in July 2012.

It said the visit would offer an opportunity for Ghanaians to get expert opinion from the very best consultants in the world.

The statement said the Apollo Hospitals experts would work in collaborating and in support of the efforts of the highest healthcare professionals in Ghana in upgrading the healthcare infrastructure and skill sets.

It noted that as a commitment to assist Ghana in its quest for seeking the best healthcare for its citizens, the Apollo Hospitals Group, would offer short and medium terms training and attachment courses for the doctors and other paramedical staff in super-specialty areas like Non invasive and Interventional Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics and any other specialty as required.

Apollo Hospitals, the leading healthcare provider in Asia, has trained personnel from various African countries like Zambia, Tanzania, Nigeria, etc and also other parts of the world like Iraq and SAARC countries.

The visit is part of a continued effort by Apollo Hospitals Group to work for the better healthcare services for the citizens of Ghana.

The statement acknowledged the support of Mr Rojo Mettle-Nunoo, Deputy Minister of Health, for encouraging the partnership between Apollo Hospitals and Ghana, after his visit to India in October 2011 and was impressed by the high quality of healthcare offered by the Hospitals at a very competitive price.
