ECG Hospital in Dambai commences operations

The Evangelical Church of Ghana (ECG) has officially opened its newly constructed Hospital in Dambai, Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, with a free health screening exercise for residents.

The Dambai ECG Hospital is expected to provide a range of medical services, including outpatient and inpatient care, diagnostic imaging, and laboratory services, among others.

The Hospital boasts state-of-the-art equipment and modern amenities, designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients.

The facilities include a well-equipped emergency unit, a laboratory, and a pharmacy, and are staffed by experienced medical professionals.

The Hospital’s management has assured patients of quality healthcare services, with a focus on patient-centered care.

Dr Sonlaar Joseph, Medical Doctor of Kpandai ECG Hospital, and in charge of the Dambai facility, revealed that the Hospital had completed its human resource arrangements and is awaiting registration with the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) to become fully operational. “We are done with the human resources and only left to register with CHAG,” Dr. Sonlaar said, urging residents to patronize the health facility for quality healthcare services.

He emphasised the hospital’s commitment to providing comprehensive medical care, leveraging the expertise of its team of experienced health professionals, mostly drawn from Kpandai Hospital.

Bishop John Pang-Moot, Local Council of Churches Chairman in Krachi East, said the Hospital was constructed to address pressing healthcare challenges facing the area, particularly for vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, the aged, and children.

He explained that the lack of quality healthcare services in the area had been a significant concern, requiring patients to travel long distances outside the municipality and sometimes out of the Oti Region for medical attention.

The Hospital’s construction, he noted, was a response to these challenges, and its operationalisation was expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in Krachi East.

Joseph Chikpa, a beneficiary of the free health screening, commended the ECG management for their efforts. “It’s a great initiative, and we are grateful for the quality healthcare services,” He added.

Others echoed Chikpa’s sentiments, pointing fingers at the two dominant political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for failing to prioritise healthcare infrastructure in Krachi East. “These parties have been in power, but they have neglected our healthcare needs. It’s the Church that has come to our rescue,”

The ECG Hospital’s management has expressed its commitment to providing quality healthcare services, promoting health education, and contributing to the region’s development.

The Hospital is poised to make a significant impact on the healthcare landscape in Krachi East and beyond.
