Development partners unhappy with sanitation situation

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) are displeased about the lack of commitment on the part of government to implement pledges on issues about sanitation in Ghana.

Representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) at a stakeholders’ meeting on Tuesday with other development partners, expressed their displeasure about Ghana’s inability to phase out palm latrines and its associated health hazards in the country.

They are also unhappy about the general apathy towards developing a waste management plant in the country.

Economic Advisor to the UN Resident Coordinator, Palamin Beyai says the new report being drafted for consideration for the post 2015 development agenda will consider setting realistic targets.
