Candela Medicals to host medical seminar

Candela Medicals Limited, a preventive health care delivery company, in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, will host a three day health seminar, awards and exhibition in Ghana.

A statement signed by Dr Anthony Osei, Director of Candela Medical, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, said the seminar was to maximize the potential of a healthy midlife and improve health and well-being in midlife towards a healthy active old age

It said it was also to Support good health in old age, and increase the potential to lead an active healthy old age through education, provision of comprehensive medical examinations, applying anti-ageing science and best Functional Medical practices.

The statement said: “Helping to close the wider gap between life expectancy and healthy life expectancy was to promote active citizenship and personal independence through a healthy lifestyle in old age.”

It said the seminar was also to alert policy makers on the need to include anti-ageing science, functional medicine and executive Health in the general healthcare policy of Ghana, as well as eliminate age discrimination in employment policy.

The statement said the three-day seminar will bring together health experts around the World, who will educate participants to navigate unchartered period of life through expert education on diseases associated with ageing, provision of comprehensive medical examinations and individualized health assessment and risk management.

It is also to educate participants on the exposition to a healthy lifestyle of appropriate exercise, healthy diet and stress management, support systems to facilitate independent, happy and a passionate life in old age and membership of executive healthy community with appropriate entertainment, medical tourism, voluntarism, philanthropy and stress free self-improvement and supply of suitable periodicals.

The statement said “the seminar will recognize five elderly statesmen, who are still active and healthy with a citation from Dr Allison Wiley Award from the United States Congress.

They include former UN Secretary General, Mr Kofi Annan, the President of Ghana and two former Heads of State of Ghana and the 105 year old Queenmother of Asante, Nana Afua Kobi Serwaa Ampem.
