Canadian Foundation assists Wenchi Methodist Hospital

Wenchi (B/A), April 20, GNA - Mack-Branceth Foundation of Canada has donated an ultra sound machine and other hospital equipment worth 12 billion cedis to the Methodist Hospital at Wenchi.

Dr David Mensah, a Ghanaian based in Canada and board member of the Foundation on Thursday presented the equipment to the Hospital on behalf of the Canadian private sector Foundation.

He said five Canadian medical doctors and 20 nurses would arrive at the Hospital to assist in healthcare delivery.

Receiving the items, the Reverend Charles Kwasi Konadu, Bishop of the Wenchi Diocese of the Methodist Church, thanked the donors for the gesture and gave the assurance that they would be put to good use. He commended Dr Mensah for providing 100 million cedis worth of drugs to the Hospital in 2003.

The Reverend Alberta Baiden, Matron of the Hospital, appealed to the Foundation for a foetal monitor for the maternity ward. 20 April 07
