Bibiani hospital constructs staff quarters

Bibiani, Dec. 26, GNA- Dr. Elias Sory, Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), has commended Management and Staff of the Bibiani Government Hospital in the Western Region for putting up two semi-detached staff quarters at A cost of GH=A228,000 through internally-generated funds.

He also lauded the hospital for putting in place innovative strategies which have increased staff competence to boost health delivery, thus, re-positioning the hospital as the best health facility in the Region.

In an address read on his behalf to inaugurate the buildings on Friday at Bibiani, Dr. Sory said the construction of the accommodation facilities would retain and attract staff to the hospital. The Director-General advised the staff to educate their clients on how to prevent certain diseases from attacking them by keeping their environment clean.

Dr. Sylvester Anemana, Director of Health Services for Western Region appealed to the Government to resource the hospital with more equipment to cope with the numerous challenges such as heavy clinic attendance, overcrowding at the wards and the record department, brought on by the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme. Dr. Paul Ntodi, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, said staff accommodation has been perennial problem of the hospital and appealed to the District Assembly to complement the hospital and construct more quarters for the staff. 26 Dec. 07
