Azumah Resources renovates Centre

Azumah Resources Ghana, a gold exploring company, has renovated the Kalselgra Health Centre at the cost of 12,000 Ghana Cedis, to enhance quality health delivery for the people, especially pregnant women.

The gesture was a request from the community to Azumah Resource to extend a helping hand to the centre.

The facility was provided with a modern delivery bed, water pumping equipment, ceiling of the maternity ward, and general repair and maintenance works, carried out on the building to give it a face-lift.

Mr. Hectar Nyinaku, Administrative Manager of Azumah Resource who presented the items to Madam Angsowine Florence, District Director of Health Services, said the gesture would help improve and strengthen quality health delivery in the area.

He also thanked traditional authorities for the peaceful atmosphere and cordial relationship they had accorded Azumah Resources.

Madam Florence gave the assurance that the equipment would be put used to benefit the community members.

She used the opportunity to appeal to government and benevolent organizations to build nurse’s quarters for the centre.

Dumba Muhammed Naatuu, the officer in charge of the centre, said the facility had inadequate staff, and appealed for more personnel, especially a midwife.

He said pregnant women were delivering babies on the floor, but hoped the provision of a bed would improve the delivery of babies.

The centre was built and completed in 2013, through collaborations between Rev. Father Nangwelle Linus and Ann Foundation in the United States, but lacked several operating equipment.
