Accra Ridge Rotary Club organizes free medical treatment

Mpraeso, Feb. 22, GNA - Accra Ridge Rotary Club at the weekend organized free medical treatment for over 400 people, as part of an outreach programme at Mpraeso and Kwahu Praso.

A medical team made up of five doctors, 12 nurses and a pharmacist examined and treated people with various diseases including malaria, diabetes, hypertension, and minor eye diseases.

The beneficiaries were given free drugs while others whose treatments were beyond the control of the team, were referred to the Kwahu Government Hospital at Atibie.

Mr. Isaac Aninakwa, President of the Club, told GNA that the free medical treatment was aimed at promoting the health of the people. He commended the team and Kwahu Government Hospital, led by Dr Ben Ofosu-Brako, for undertaking the medical treatment. The Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Mr. Seth Acheampong commended the Rotary Club for contributing to the improvement of health in the constituency and said he would support such initiatives. The District Chief Executive, Mr. Joseph Omari in a speech read on his behalf, advised the people to observe personal hygiene to prevent communicable diseases. 22 Feb.10
