Accra Brewery assists Malaria Control

Accra, April 17, GNA - Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) has donated chemicals and spraying machines worth over 10,000 Ghana cedis to the Health Directorate of the Accra Metropolitan Authority. The donation is in support of the directorate's malaria prevention exercise in the central business district of Accra. The Managing Director of ABL, Mr Grant Liversage said the gesture was in line with the company's quest to help solve some public health problems such as the malaria scourge.

Mr. Liversage said AMA's initiative will encourage business and individuals with the vision of improving health and environment to contribute to such a noble cause and assured of the company's preparedness

to complement the efforts of the authority in such ventures. Dr. Simpson Anin Boateng, Director of the AMA Health Directorate said the statistics of infant and maternal deaths due to malaria at the health facilities were disheartening. He said his outfit was doing more in preventive measures than curative

as far as malaria control was concerned and thanked the ABL for responding favourably and timely to the request for support for the fumigation of the central business district, specifically the Agbogloshie market and Accra central.
