NDC suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder under Asiedu Nketia

Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the NDC Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the NDC

If the Great NDC party wants to succeed with desire to make any headway in our electoral process for us to be serious as a party, this pay-as-you-vote culture under Asiedu Nketia must stop that is the reality.

There is no party General Secretary of the NDC since 1992 that has led the party to such a disastrous outing. As a result, I thought General Mosquito should have considered resigning to give way for the new General Secretary to come up. In fact, he doesn’t need to be told to turn in his resignation.

The NDC must tell Mr Aseidu Nketia -Excuses do not give results, excuses only end your failures because it is an escapist way of solving problems, it clouds your reasoning, analytical and objective mind and replaces it with sentiments, which does not have a place in societies that aspire to make progress and where rational thoughts are upheld. NDC is not about an individual. It’s about foundation, about systems and structures. Something he has failed to do.

Currently, the two major political parties that would most likely produce the next president of Ghana – the anchor point for political leadership – are the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The NPP being the party of Nana Addo is set to give him the 2020 presidential ticket unopposed.

However, as things stand, the NPP has failed to deliver on its campaign promises consequent on the leadership failure of Nana Addo. In effect, except the NPP rescinds it decision and prevails on Mr Akuffo Addo to jettison his ambition, the party stands a big chance of losing out to the NDC which remains One of Africa’s most reliable and respected political party and the last hope of the common man to rise from growing poverty.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is lost in depression and suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder, (PTSD)” Under its incumbent General Secretary Asiedu Nketia- AKA- General Mosquito who is alleged to supervise this pay-as-you-vote culture under his term as the chief executive of the party.

If the party continues to be held hostage by few major donors, it will continue to find it difficult to instill the values that will endear us Ghanaians
The current condition of Ghana’s main opposition party is virtually moving from a party of ‘pride to a party of one man Show.

Ghanaians needs reassurance that repositioned and rebranded NDC platform remains the best political vehicle to return Ghana to the path of good governance and national unity.

We must always remember that we are a party of democrats, not a party of hooligans. We are a party of patriots, not a party of renegades. We are a party of statesmen and women. We are a party of builders, not destroyers.

We are a party of committed servants of the people. You must let our people see once again, that we are in this to serve and to move Ghana forward, not to move Ghana backwards.

The NDC must be aggregating opinions of its members and Ghanaians at large on the way forward, so that we perfect a level playing ground “as no individual or group can claim ownership or control of the party.

If care is not taken the party is gradually coming under the control of certain individuals, who are exhibiting dangerous levels of undemocratic behaviors.

We have gone from a party of pride to a party of self-seeking people and gradually receding into the abyss of political reality. We are fast becoming a shadow of ourselves.

Under Asiedu Nketia the party is gradually coming under the control of certain individuals, who are exhibiting dangerous levels of undemocratic behaviors. One of the biggest challenges that the NDC faces is balancing its needs for funding with established egalitarian values and internal systems.

“We must take our appeal to Ghanaians and through our reforms, let the party truly become a people-funded party. Small donations from millions of Ghanaian’s will go a long way in the party’s financial requirements and will create the necessary atmosphere for true ownership among members of the party.

We are not in a moment of psychiatric seizure, sad to say, Perfidious!

Perfidious!! Perfidious that is what we are virtually becoming. Political vultures who want to prey even on very good candidates in the same party.

That is what they are! Political scavengers that are what they are! Political rascals that are what they are! Political jobbers that are what they are! Political cowards that are what they are!

We are seeing the entry of a pugnacious phase of the NDC Presidential primaries in Ghana. We are watching with sneering disdain how man, the rapacious and scavenging variants, can form a wicked confederacy of adversarial fraternity to stop others from contesting in Democratic Party primaries.

Our democracy is now going Gothic where the twin evil of greed and revolting selfishness continue to drive public service and citizen engagement.

We are also seeing the evolution of the barbarians trying to fight the virtuous and seek shelter under the leaky umbrella that we are rebranding.

Most of the political assassins are hiding under the name ONE MAN SHOW tickets are ungracious, ungrateful, boorish, ignorant, bullies and dangerous to our democracy.

They want to throw dirt at everyone who wants to contest on the NDC ticket for the Presidential primaries. Something I see as nothing but byword for desperation and disruption.

As members of this rogue gallery have, through sheer arrogance and cavalier insolence, pronounced annus horribilis over other contestants.

There is no social compliance in their methodology. There is no political compliance in their operation. There is no ethical compliance in their ethos. There is no cultural synergy in their posturing.

All they know is that the NDC is their Imperial Rome that must be taken back by all means it’s their personal property.

There is no integrity capital among members of this noonday cowards, who, in their whimsical calculations, Majority of the NDC members are seen as fools who have no memory of the how party grassroots members were sidelined for some few celebrity’s and their favorites.

As the race for the 2020 heats up therefore, the NDC must concern themselves with three main things: building parties in which the will of the people is supreme; properly defining the character of those who will drive the processes the parties are creating and committing to delivering on the promises they make to the people.

Any party whose focus remains the massaging of the over-pampered egos of the political class is only racing for ultimate extinction.
