Dr Otto, youre a fool. Prof Lungu is writing about historical FACTS and that's all you can say? Nkrumah was overthrown in a CIA/MI6 organised coup and that should concern all Ghanaians unless you lack patriotism - aboa.

'Nuff' stupidity. The word 'nonentity'is a perfect cut for your weed smoking dumb arse. Busia was a scholar par excellence who had no match in his days. The acronym BUSIA, if you have no idea about its origin, was crafted from the arcolade: "Best University Scholar In Africa". Is this the man whom a coward like you - who is even afraid to tell 'forumers' the real you, and therefore hiding behind monikers, for fear of being exposed of your weed smoking habit - referred to as 'nonentity'? You seriously have problems. Let us know who you are, what you do, and where you got your bogus PhD from so that we can interrogate your substandard postings with the necessary comeupance it deserves. Else we will treat the 'standard seven' postings coming from your hidden rat hole in Washington, as 'ghostly adventures'.

For me, born in a village and polished around the world by Busia's education policies, he still remains the most practical head of government Ghana ever had. What he did for rural dwellers in just 27 months!
Had it not been Busia's Rural Development Policies that rid their villages and slums of guinea worm, cholera and yaws in the early 1970s, these cowards who come to this forum to hurl insults at him would have all been still born!
Now our national capital is ranked one of the dirtiest in the world, and they still sh** at the beach!

Want to know something about us?
Hear This!
Many, many years ago, we used to go to school with others named "Busia".
We know that they've never heard of that Village-concoction, "BUSIA", you now present.
What the heck do we have use for a "Best University Scholar In Africa" who never believed in Sovereignty of the Ghanaian, and Africans?
Right!
"Best University Scholar In Africa" educated overseas!
Yep!
He must have been best in Astronomy!
Best in Accountancy!
Best in Law
Best in Music
Best in Economics
Best in Philosophy
Best in Engineering
Best in Religion of Africans
Best in Physics
Best in Chemistry
Best in Political Science
Best in Medicine
Best in Mathematics
We hope you see the nonsense you generated!
Shows you may not have matured in over 50 years, that king of thinking, and living through proverbs as you do.
Bull crap!

For anyone to say that BUSIA was the "Best University Scholar in Africa" clearly tells me that person knows practically nothing about Ghana and Africa.
BUSIA, the "Best University Scholar in Africa" will probably not even count among the "best" African scholars if this person has closely studied Africa and Africans and their education during the past 600 years.
I am saying this because I have studied educated Africans during the past 600 years, including men such as Busia. I have also studied Busia's works.
There is probably only one work by him that could arguably be said to be important: "The Position of the Chief in the Modern Political System of Ashanti.
Even this work is so so ordinary given that others before him had already taken up many of his core ideas in other works. Readers can check out his bibliography for that work.
What is more, the works of Wole Soyinka, Cheikh Anta Diop, Leopold Senghor, Kwame Nkrumah and Chinua Achebe, to name but four, have impacted human knowledge than anything Busia has ever written...I can go and on.
In fact Abena Busia, one of Busia's daughters who teaches at Rutgers University (I am not too sure if she still teaches at that university) is more intellectually accomplished than her father.
In the final analysis, I will not waste anybody's with an exhaustive commentary on African scholars in the past 600 years. I will not waste anybody's time with an exhaustive commentary on Africa's greatest scholars in the 20th century when Busia graduated from Oxford.
The acronym BUSIA is therefore not rooted in the hard facts of history. That is, I will dare not repeat this fabricated acronym to others except when I want to do so for fun!
Thanks.

I forgot to mention that Abena Busia did her doctorate at Oxford too.

Busia's doctoral dissertation was on the "Ashanti."
The book ("The Position of the Chief...) I mentioned earlier in one of my responses to you was his doctoral dissertation. Nothing spectacular there.
It is generally a collection of oral history, a summary of what others before him had already written about the "Ashanti" Empire (or Kingdom), and his own personal observations.
Busia, though a royal Bono, spent some time under the Asante royal family, the same royal family that sponsored his education via Oxford.
I hope this little info suffices.
Thanks.

Prof Lungu,
A good friend of mine has just informed me that he and his friends used to refer to BUSIA as "BAD UNIVERSITY SCHOLAR IN AFRICA."
I can't stop laughing.
