You can quote as many verses from the Quran and the Hadith, we will not be convinced. For every verse you quote about the peaceful nature of Islam, we can quote more verses about the violent nature of that same religion.
The fact is simply that ISLAM IS A MAN MADE RELIGION WHICH HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH GOD - AN ENTITY WE DON'T EVEN KNOW EXISTS!
If some people go on a rampaging spree killing every body in sight shouting the name of your religion, you will find it difficult to convince us that they are not true Muslims. They are Muslims, whether true or not. They genuinely believe that they are doing what they do in the name of the religion!!!

Many of your stories have been twisted and this is what I always look out for when reading articles like yours by Muslims. The pagans of Mecca withstood Mohammed's blasphemies against their gods and religion for 10 years before before he decided to move to Medina. His followers were comfortable in Mecca and wouldn't follow him to Medina, so he threatened them with the curses of Allah before they followed him.
The pagans of Mecca never fought Muslims in Mecca. They took the battle to Mohammed's doorstep in his new town(Medina) as self-defense against Muslims and their strange prophet who constituted themselves into armed robbers; whose aim was to target and loot caravans of businessmen from Mecca. This was the reason for the first battle between pagans and muslims. The over 50 other battles that were fought in the lifetime of Mohammed were initiated by Mohammed largely for power, material and financial resources and sex slaves under the guise of fighting for Allah.
The most dastardly act to have been committed by Mohammed and his followers was the beheadings of 900 Jewish men, immediately followed by the raping of their women that very bloody day with no obvious reason.
Everything written in the quran about Jesus is blasphemy against the Christian God and Christian. But for the tolerance of the Christian, such a blasphemous book would have had no place in our civilised society.
On the matter of slave trade I entreat you to read about what your Arab superiors did to the African centuries before the whiteman arrived.
Islam has caused the death of over 250 million people over the past 1400 years of its existence. The situation is getting worse in our time and Muslims must take responsibility as long as they believe in the very scriptures that produce the terrorists.
