There must be proper scrutiny of character before they send some of these staff because some of them are rotten, corrupt, greedy and they get posted not because of professionalism but because of party cadreism and bribery. The Foreign Affairs Ministry in Accra should sit up and recall the rotten eggs abroad as they are disgracing Ghana abroad.

Rockson, I appreciate your efforts in vividly describing the ideal situation and the reasons for sending out our compatriots abroad to represent the interest of Ghanians and projecting Ghana as an ideal place for investment, tourism etc.I have no doubt in my mind about the good work of some of our missions abroad. Infact I raise my hat for the Mission in Malabo for the good job the Ambassador and his staff did during our semi-final match with the host country and thereafter. The Mission coordinated effectively with the host authorities to enable our evacuation from the Malabo Sports Stadium to the mission premises. Can you imagine how the ambassador and three of his officers managed to handle over three hundred stranded nationals at the mission premises and their various homes ? The same team was very helpful when we went for the final match in Bata. At this point let me also extend my appreciation for the good work of the then sports minister and the Chief of Staff at the time and some members of Parliament that came to watch the final march in Bata.If our diplomats all over thr world can to the extra miles like some of the officers in Malabo and some few missions then we can be assured that the tax payer's money is well utilized.

Rockson Adofo, thanks for this piece. However, I suspect you are describing the ideal roles of Ghanaian embassies abroad. I am however satisfied that affected Ghanaians should follow the laid down internal procedures and where necessary, outside sources. This admission shows that some embassies are not living up to expectation. I sent emails to one of the embassies for over 8 months without any response. I followed up with phone calls to no avail.I assure you that the the complaints that you are talking of either internally or through outside sources will not work.

If Ghana's embassies are manned by true Ghanaians why should and could their activities, outlook on life and work ethics be different from any Ghanaian? Are they presumed to be better than those who appointed them or those who run afairs of the nation? Do you know of any Ghanaian, Rockson Adofo, in the Diaspora or in Ghana who is not consumed with the drive for money and riches by fair or foul means? What is the property seeking society all about if our representatives at embassies around the world are any morally pure from us all? Is there anyone of you in the Diaspora who would work for Ghana's government and will promise to live on the wages and benefits of their post and office without bribery, corruption and influence peddling? Would you Rockson Adofo, Justice Sarpong, Dr. Okoampa-Ahoofe and all the stone throwing bunch who have seen no deviant human behavior they will not subscribe to for love of tribal and political party loyalties?
