In the end, the EC, will probably vouch for a new register depending on what it receives from all the political parties. If you live in Ghana, you can hear from people from all walks of live that the register is not credible and a new one should be done to put all doubts somewhere.

What we demand is the closure of all loopholes in our electoral system to prevent any party, now or in the future, from engaging in electoral thievery. We believe that the elimination and systematic reduction of electoral thievery coordination blind spots will effectively save our country from potential threats that could destroy our peaceful coexistence and steady development in the near future.
We, therefore, reject the misleading arguments you and Mr. Nketia are making to bury the truth between another Azorka boys and Bolga Bull Boys scenario to prevent cleaning up the register for the benefit of all the political parties in Ghana. You are a disgrace for calling yourself an independent presidential candidate with this type of backward ideas because you should've been calling for a level ground to compete freely, fairly and democratically. By the way, are you also planning to steal votes in order to become president, when you already know that there exist more experienced and dangerous electoral thieves in the system?

Apart from calling a press conference, how else can Dr Bawumia or the NPP for that matter, relay to the people of Ghana and the EC that we have a fraudulent and potentially dangerous national voters’ register?
The official 2014 demographics show that Ghana’s total population is 25,758,108. Of that, a whopping 38.6 or 9,932,274 are under 14 years of age. So even including the 15 to 17 year olds, just 61.4 or 15,815,478 are eligible to vote. That means if the electoral register has 14,000,000, an incredible 88.5% of the eligible voters are registered to vote in national elections.
Even in Europe where registration is mandatory (voting is not) and where people can register online in the comfort of their living rooms, countries do not achieve that level of registration. In fact, there is no country in the democratic world that achieves even 50% national registration. And of course, Afari-Djan himself admitted in 2008 that Ghana’s electoral register is over-bloated and not fit for purpose.
If just one thinly populated constituency has as many as 76,000 foreigners on its register, who can tell what else they have fraudulently added in other areas? That is what Dr Bawumia’s’ press conference was all about. I guess that is too difficult for people like you to understand!
