I disagree with your view on Nkrumah's stand on Pan-Africanism. Nkrumah's vision was for a united Africa, but he was way ahead of his time and many failed to appreciate what he envisioned. The African Union has since been struggling to set any meaningful goal for African countries, other than sitting at their headquarters in Ethiopia and having fun at the expense of their various countries. Nkrumah envisioned for Africa what the European Union today is practicing. Nkrumah and his team never neglected Ghana; they set out right after independence to establish factories around the country, something that was not happening in other newly-independent African countries. Nkrumah hit a roadblock because the the USA shamelessly saw him as a dynamic leader who would lead many African countries into the the hands of Russia and China, and thus thus the USA employed every evil and devious agenda to undermine Nkrumah and his government. It was this diabolical agenda of the USA against Nkrumah that the visionless Busia and his Danquah Tradition of Nation-wreckers allied themselves with to bring about the USA's coup against Nkrumah's government. Nkrumah may have been a staunch Pan-Africanist, but he never placed that vision above the interest of Ghana. Nkrumah was a casualty of the USA and its CIA, just like many South American political leaders who suffered the same fate as Nkrumah just because they refused to allow their countries to be exploited by USA conglomerates. That was a period when the CIA had a cart blanch to do as it pleased against foreign leaders, including assassinations, and this evil trip only subsided when Jimmy Carter became President of the USA. Ghana's dream was killed by the USA, acting in conjunction with the evil Busia/Danquah Tradition of Nation-wreckers.
Delusions!
