Heck no. Ghana doesn't need to declare a state of emergency to fight galamsey. The government just has to have a will to tackle the galamsey menace. The government also has to have a solid plan that its officials can all rely on as they they attempt to go after the galamsey criminals. After all these many years of destruction by galamsey criminals, it's sad to see that Ghanaians have to demonstrate on streets or cry out to politicians before any meaningful action can be taken against galamsey operators. Government authorities need to stop the rhetoric and start mounting a serious fight against galamsey. Ghanaians want action now, not useless talk and empty promises.
