The colonial government came to meet already chiefdom existing at the time in bawku as well as all the way to Burkina Faso by the Mamprugu(mamprusis). Note that the first mamprusi chief in Bawku was 1721..unless you want to say the colonial government was already in bawku before 1721:which history will not agree with you. My respectful view is that Nkrumah should not have interfered in the chieftaincy issue. I hear it was not only in Bawku but others as well. So wrong..
