  Very poorly written opinion. The world is awash with histories that shaped humanity. How do you define a fake historian? Like science and the law of evidence, there is a systematic way to gather historical facts, which will approximate the truth, assuming you don't know the truth. I have read similar write-ups either from Mamprusi sympathizers or themselves or their rented journalists, and the theme and tone have always been the same.
  
  First, let me correct that the Mamprusis are never the second-largest ethnic group after the Kusasis. Here are the facts from the GLSS 2000 regarding the demographic breakdown of the people in Bawku:
  
  1. Kusasis 65%.
  2. ⁠Busanga 12%
  3. ⁠Bimoba 8%
  4. ⁠Moshie 6%
  5. ⁠Manrusis 4%
  6. ⁠The remaining 5% comprises all other tribes other than those mentioned above.
  
  The historical facts of the owners of Bawku are settled and incontestable, and nothing can change this. The chieftaincy issue and conflict in Bawku were started by politicians. The first political group to set the fire ablaze was the colonial masters, who, through indirect rule, made the minor minority 4% of the Mamprusi chiefs of Bawku.
  
  All Nkrumah did when he came to power was set up committees and understand how the white man subverted chieftaincy across the country to his whims and caprices. Mamprusis should have accepted the mistake of their initial elevation as chiefs of Bawku and done what was needed. But like the British colonial masters who raped Africa and enriched England, the mamprusis had benefitted a lot from being chiefs of Bawku to a point that relinquishing that will mean relinquishing the very soul of their existence.
  
  Let me conclude by saying that the situation in Bawku is moot, and mamprusis must wake up and smell the coffee and realize that they can never be chiefs of Bawku. At best, as the Bawku king was heard saying in one of his press conferences, they should organize themselves to lie prostrate before the Kusasis King, apologize to him, and select one of them to be enskinned as a mamprusis community chief.
