I feel strongly that Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman should be retained to run as vice president. She is more qualified than any of the competitors. Besides, her exclusion from the potential vice presidential slot will alienate a lot of women voters for NDC. Think about it.

Sending a strong message to girls and women? But was that message not sent when she picked in the last election? So what message do you still wish to send? A running mate should be picked not based on sending a message to any group, but rather should be picked based on the political strengths that the person can bring to the table. Mere academic credentials don't go far in garnering support that can propel a party to victory. The political landscape today is a changed one, requiring careful consideration before making a pick.

Not necessarily so. This is one of the most crucial election years the country is about to experience. And the main opposition party has taken in consideration the power of incumbency. The NDC has a tough decision to make, it can't worry about hurting egos and choosing to follow a path that will merely undermine its chances. Better to be fickle-minded and aim in the right direction than wish one had acted differently. I can't state which person should be picked by the flagbearer, for that decision ultimately rests with the flagbearer and the party hierarchy. If a change at the last hour will enhance the chances of the party, then so be it. The party must seriously consider which potential running mate will bring more pull power to help the party, especially in key voting regions.
