Winners and losers of NDC branch elections must work together

NDC is reorganising after witnessing a humiliating defeat in the 2016 election NDC is reorganising after witnessing a humiliating defeat in the 2016 election

The NDC's quest to recapture power in 2020 from governing NPP has heightened with the conduct of branch elections across the country.

As a party this goes a long way to send a strong message of our desire to reunite and recapture power that we lost in the 2016 general elections.

We need to learn our lessons, regather our momentum and go back to the Ghanaian people who have voted for us over the years to continue to deliver on our mandate as a truly socialist party with the interest of the people at hear.

The peace and tranquility that has characterised the branch elections depicts the commitment of all and sundry to contribute to the 2020 agenda of the party and also shows the attractiveness of the party.

As an aspiring constituency secretary of Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfrom, I owe it a duty and I believe my colleagues across the country also share in this view, to monitor and guide the process to ensure that no outsiders partake in it to destroy the solid foundation we are building as a party.

Within the contituency, 100 out of 106 branches in the Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfrom Constituency have elected their executives. Elections for the remaining 6 Branches which are CBS A&B, Sethdel A&B, Redeemer A and UCOMS B will be conducted on Thursday the 26th day of April, 2018.

Let me use this opportunity to congratulate all elected branch executives.

I will also like to say a very big thank you to our Constituency Executives, the Constituency Election Directorate, Branch Executives, Party members and all Observers who made this election successful and peaceful.

The successful Branch elections is an indication of our preparedness towards the 2020 general elections.

The battle for election 2020 begins now and we must all come together to Reunite, Reorganise to Recapture.

I hereby charge the new branch executives to keep the ideals of the party and work hard to bring NDC back to power.

I also congratulate party members who contested branch elections but lost for accepting defeat peacefully. NDC is the only social democratic party in Ghana where a defeat in internal elections is not a total lose.

Competitors shouldn't be seen by winners as enemies, but rather invite them in our operations to achieve a common goal, which is to capture power in 2020.
