It is not surprising that everybody including the deputy director of National theatre of Ghana, Amy Frimpong Appiah knows that theatre help in changing the world. But what have we done to see Ghana's theatre in that positive directions? Nothing. Gone are the days when National theatre design programmes and support not only for Abibigroma and Ghana dance ensemble but also existed and up and coming individual theatre groups to excel on the value of theatre existence. National theatre even have programmes for schools, but what programme can national theatre boost of today. Nothing. Now, Mr. Michael Attipoe, every year, the government allocates funds to the National Commission on Culture in which National theatre benefit from, though I knew President J.A Kufuor concealed funds to the National theatre and ask National theatre to look for its own funds in running the theatre. Does the government of the day change that or it's still the same old story. If that remain and theatre is not getting anything from the government through the NCC, then Ghanaian cannot realize and enjoy the relevant of theatre existence. I will commend Mr. Ako Tetteh for launching 2014 comedy series. Even though, it will take place at the Folks Place, which means its targeted small audience and will take place once a month, is a huge corner stone for theatre reviving. God Bless Ghana.
